I occasionally get asked for book recommendations; and at the vital moment can rarely think of what to suggest. Typical! So just in case you happen to be in search of a good book at the moment ... Read the Gormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake (which is made up of Gormenghast, Titus Groan, and Titus Alone.) It's all a bit wierd and gothic, and the characters are absolutely spectacular!
