I have developed the habit of making, rather than buying cards for special occasions - they usually include an animal an unlikely sounding name, and a story about them. In the case of any for my boyfriend's dad, the animal is some sort of Pony, because he teases me about everyone in England (particularly Hampshire) having a stable-full of them.
So:
This is Margaret. It's hard to tell without a clearer sense of scale, but Margaret is actually the smallest Shetland Pony in the World ... Sometimes other ponies tease her, but humans think she's cute (Stupid Humans.) Margaret likes slices of 'Pink Lady' apple, dipped in a little brown sugar; and prefers to sleep in a dog basket - she's a bit of a diva!
p.s I've been thinking of selling cards online, either individually or in packs ... you you think you/people you know would be interested? I promise to start taking better photos of them before I go into business!
